Spice Up Your Reading List with Charty's HOT Book Recommendations

Hello beautiful people! Ladies- you gals are my target audience today.

As most know, I am a huge reader. I hit my Goodreads goal of 123 books last year as I spend most nights curled up with a book. I read everything from horror, mystery/thriller, to biographies, and yes, smut.

I love smutty romance books. Specifically, cowboy and hockey smut... there's just something about a man in a cowboy hat or on the ice. Occasionally we’ll throw in construction worker, fireman, professor, you name it.

Growing up, I was loyal to my horse books which got me through a lot of hard times. The Saddle Club, Chestnut Hill Series, and Canterwood Crest. Sorry to my elementary school librarian, I wasn’t reading anything but! Until my teenage years, when my mom lent me The Time Traveler’s Wife and I immediately loved it. What a wonderful book. If you haven’t read it—it’s a need! And don’t even get me started on the Twilight Series. Iconic. (Edward girl forever...but Billy Burke can get it)

In my teen/early 20s, I was into mystery/thriller books and would make my mom pass whatever she was reading down to me. But in 2020, I was introduced to Colleen Hoover and later found out about Elsie Silver’s western series. I was a goner. I love these romance books because there’s always a happy ending. They’re heartfelt, have deeper messages around being kind and choosing yourself, and yeah, they have a sexy man thrown in. I feel they empower women.

Sue me, I also love a book where the man swoops in and saves the day!

There's nothing better than getting lost in a book by escaping to another world…that’s why we read right? To feel something outside of our world and connect with fictional characters. Finding that happily-ever-after we're chasing in real life. Stories we know are going to end in the most predictable, heartfelt way.

I’ve gone through so many amazing series that have great plot lines, not just book porn! And no, I won’t sit here and recommend Colleen Hoover or that fairy porn series… that black onyx series, that I refuse to read. I'm not basic!

I digress! Anyways, fans have been requesting a deep dive into Charty’s liberry and all-time favorite spicy books, so enjoy ❤️

Elsie Silver:

Elsie writes the most beautiful books. They’re all western and cowboy themed with single dads, ranch hands, all the good stuff. I cannot talk them up enough. Below I’ve listed her 3 different series, and I recommend each of them if you're just starting your cowboy love.

Lauren Asher:

Enter billionaire smut! This series is a spinoff of brothers owning/managing Disneyworld? Okay, I promise I’m not a Disney adult and it’s good! Each brother has their own struggle from addiction, to trauma, to single parenting. It’s a really beautifully written series.

-Dreamland Billionaires Series- 3 books

Lauren has since started creating a new series about brothers who live in a beautiful town and of course, are billionaires. Single dad, childhood besties, you name it, it's a great series.

Ana Huang:

Ana is the queen of hitman, 'bad-guy' smut. Men that kill or engage in unethical business practice BUT are so sexy you don't even care. I highly recommend her series Twisted, with it’s steam, suspense, and dark themes.

Ana recently began writing her series called Kings of Sin which are smutty books around these same darker themes, suspense, and deadly sins. UGH. It's so good I promise.

Liz Tomforde:

Hockey time! The Windy City series takes place in Chicago with a hockey team and each guy has their own book. It sounds dumb, but I promise you’ll eat it up. Enemies to lovers, one bed tropes, all the stuff we dream about. They’re lengthy but so well written. Trust me, it’s hard to find hockey smut that is well written, but these are truly a must-read.

Elle Kennedy:

Going with our hockey smut theme…Elle is a can’t miss author! She has so many great series that she’s written, but these three have my heart. Briar U and Off Campus are spin offs of each other with the characters. They’re both set in college with a college hockey team, set in Boston! Also…Off Campus Series is being created into a TV show on Prime Video!

Stephanie Archer:

More hockey smut! She has a wonderful series called Vancouver Storm. Amazing. If you're looking for cute surfer town smut, try her series Queen's Cove as well.

Becka Mack:

No further notes other than to read the Playing for Keeps Series and send me a thank you note when you finish. It's an absolute masterpiece of character development, hot hockey men, and strong women.

Sloane St James:

Sloane is a talented writer of both hockey smut books as well as fireman! This must-read author has also written the first book in the Sky Ridge Hotshot Series: Fight. You will love fireman smut, especially a cabin in the woods with a fireman!

The Lakes Hockey series is an absolute masterpiece. It's the classic hockey smut tales with thoughtful spins on them.

Mariana Zapata:

I love this author so much. I almost contemplated not sharing her work because I want to gate keep her for myself forever! Mariana is my hands-down, all-time, favorite author in the world. She writes sports smut mainly but has a lot of beautifully written stand alone. They’re very slow burn, and take 300+ pages to get to romance- BUT I think they’re amazing. I'm never one to re-read a book again, however I admit I've re-read a couple of Mariana's. Definitely check her out!

Ali Hazelwood:

Am I a woman in STEM? Okay so no, but these romance books are to DIE for. They have me wanting my own man who works in the science field in a hot professor outfit! Ali’s books are all a must-read and are standalones. Any book of hers you grab is a great one.

*She recently just released Deep End! I will definitely be having to marry a man that is a swimmer after finishing this one.

Laura Pavlov:

More quick, and easy cowboy smut! Laura writes amazing books on ranch life as well as small town living. AND there's the single dad and nanny trope thrown in. And only one bed trope...Charty's favorite! I love a small-town romance, and Laura excels at making each book so noteworthy. She has a bunch books out, and they are all must-reads.
